About EduFunds
EduFunds is an autonomous student society at City College — Sir Syed Campus. We pool small monthly contributions from enrolled students to pay examination and tuition challans for peers who would otherwise drop out.
How EduFunds Started
In November 2026, during the mid-term examinations at Sir Syed Campus, two enrolled students were unable to appear for their tests due to a pending fee challan of Rs 6,500 each. Their families were facing temporary financial distress. Neither the college teachers nor their peers knew until their roll numbers were marked absent on the examination hall door.
A group of twenty students met in Room 14 of the Old Library Wing and decided that no student in their department should abandon their degree because of a few thousand rupees. Each contributed Rs 500 from their monthly transport stipend. Within two days, the dues were paid directly to the campus bank booth.
That semester, those twenty students realized that while no single student could sponsor a full degree alone, two hundred students pooling five hundred rupees a month could pay tuition for forty classmates each year. EduFunds was formed on that exact principle: mutual peer assistance with verifiable accounting.

- • Not a commercial charity or marketing NGO.
- • Not an official department of the college administration.
- • Not a cash giveaway: we never hand direct banknotes to applicants.
- • Not an anonymous foreign fund or corporate grant.
- • Not a guilt-driven donor campaign.
College Administration Awareness
The Vice Principal and Dean of Student Affairs at City College — Sir Syed Campus have been formally notified of EduFunds. The society operates within approved college society boundaries. While college staff do not sit on the financial review board, our student representatives coordinate directly with department chairs and the National Bank campus fee counter to authenticate challans.
